Vizio TruLED XVT3D556SP Review
The TruLED badge on this television sets it apart from others, as it is equipped with full-array local dimming rather than edge lighting. Full-array offers a more even screen lighting, and since the light source is located behind the picture, the black level and contrast are increased where they need to be.
Vizio is using passive rather than active 3D in its sets, meaning that the circular polarized glasses that come with the set can be taken to the theater because they are much the same as the ones that the RealD theaters provide.
The Vizio TruLED television sets aren't as thin as the Razor editions, but the full-array backlighting more than makes up for the extra thickness. This set has a one-inch thick black bezel around the screen and the speaker at the bottom.
Vizio's latest offering has apps from Amazon's VOD, Flickr, Facebook, Rhapsody, Twitter, Pandora, Vudu, WikiTV and many others. The remote has a full QWERTY keyboard that makes it easier to find your favorite content, and the TV has wireless access that allows you to connect it with your home network.
The XVT3D556SP has more than enough auxiliary inputs for all your gadgets- there are plenty of HDMI 1.4 jacks, along with digital/analog audio, composite/component analog video, USB, Ethernet and PC inputs.
