About Us
Imagine a film school for the people, run by the people. Where your only tuition is time spent.Where you learn
by watching what happens on a real film set run by real film people. That is what this site is all about. Behind
The Big Screen is film school in a box. We review hundreds of DVD's a year, but we go beyond that. We also review all their "Behind The Scenes" footage. From "The Making Of" features to "Special Effects 101" we take five minute clips from the DVD's and post them so you can watch it yourself.
Who needs film school when you can watch how the Coen brothers pick their actors or how special effects are done by Marvel Films? Want to watch the whole "Making Of" video? Then support the artists and film makers and go buy the DVD. So sit back, grab a beer and enjoy our site. You can grab our RSS feed here.
Want to send us your DVD to review? Want to show us your behind the scenes footage (sounds cheeky!)? Then email us here.
Who are we?
David J. Neff - David is an avid movie fan and filmmaker. He currently runs the film studio for a large national cancer non-profit. He loves a variety of films from those really bad horror movies from the 90's to Japanese Animation. He currently resides in the Live music capital of the world Austin, TX. He loves reviewing all types of DVD's so please contact us and we will be happy to screen your local Film or your national blockbuster.
Rob Sullivan - Rob is an avid movie fan. He likes a variety of films from animated children's films to zombie movies. He grew up in a small town in rural Alberta, Canada where he attended the local single screen theater on a regular basis. It was here where his appreciation of the silver screen developed.
As time went on his passion for the big screen only grew. He had Dolby Surround Sound in his home before his friends knew what surround sound was, was one of the first people he knew to purchase both a VCR and later a DVD player.
And he still likes going to the theater to see movies, although the snack prices do add up :)
